Want to Know How to Jump Higher?

Not everyone can afford a jump program but many times the secret to success is just out of reach, and with a little improvement in your jump you might see all the difference in your endeavors.  After a good solid warm up and some fairly simple exercises to help build up your leg endurance, it is then time to work on your vertical training and increase vertical jump by doing one of the following:

Elevated jumps are begun by getting a step bench or some kind of a platform in front of you.  First, you stand on it, and then jump back, landing as soft as you can to prevent injury, and then bounce back onto your platform. (Again remember to warm up or you will never learn how to jump higher).  You need to do ten repetitions with three sets.  A spotter is also encouraged.

Plyometric exercises like the explosive leg jumps and double jumps are done by positioning yourself on a solid, nonmoving platform, and placing one foot on it.  Jump as hish as you can, and then jump as high as you possibly can.  Scissor while you are mid air, and land with the opposite positioned foot on your desired platform.  Do this ten times in repeat, taking a break for anywhere from thirty seconds to sixty seconds between your sets.  Double jumping is done the same way, except that you do it with both feet at the same time.  With each passing increase vertical jump, you will use less effort until you have completed your ten steps.

Remember that plyos are to be done correctly or not at all.  Once you warm up, you need to focus on being very explosive.  Don’t ever be afraid to take an extra minute or 2 of rest before starting your next set.  That will not harm you at all with gaining inches.
