Where to Buy a Spy Camera
Because cameras are getting smaller and smaller, it’s now harder than it used to be to define what a spy camera is. The main thing that makes a spy camera different from others is not its size, but the fact that it takes pictures and videos of people without their knowledge. This is either because it is disguised as something else, or because it is easily concealed.
Spy cameras disguised as something else include models disguised as wall clocks, mirrors, tissue boxes and radios. These are most commonly video cameras as opposed to still cameras, or if they are still cameras they automatically take pictures at set intervals. They are typically placed in a room in such a way as to provide a wide angle of view, and used for surveillance. A classic domestic use of a camera like this is to check that the nanny is not mistreating your kids. The simplest camera of this type is a lens hooked up to a circuit board which is in turn connected to a VCR or DVR via a simple RCA cable.
Easily concealed spy cameras are often worn on the body of the camera operator, or concealed in something that the operator carries around, such as a briefcase. Only the lens is visible and it is very small and easily disguised. Hidden camera investigations by news organizations use this kind of camera.
It is only legal to use these cameras in certain situations. Most states do not allow using them in places where privacy is expected, such as a bathroom, but do permit use in a room like a living room. Video evidence of a crime is usually admissible in court even if obtained without consent.
To purchase spy cameras at a good price, do some research on the Internet. Always compare among multiple websites before purchasing, and always check the return policy.
