Wire Chinchilla Cages
If you are interested a new pet but want to go with a furry friend that is not the conventional cat or dog, a chinchilla may be the perfect new friend for you! Chinchillas are a type of rodent that is a little larger than a squirrel. There small size and good temperament make for the perfect pet. Did I mention they are also absolutely adorable! One important aspect of owning a chinchilla is knowing what type of home works best. Large wire chinchilla cages work best.
If you have decided to adopt a chinchilla as a pet, there are many things you should know first in order to properly care for your new friend. One of the things you should look into, which is probably the most important thing when it comes to caring for chinchillas or any small animal, is cages and one of the reasons this aspect of chinchilla care is so critical is because ninety percent of health problems in chinchillas is caused by the living conditions in their cage and how they are kept. Here are some tips that will be useful to you in your quest for the perfect cage for a chinchilla:
1)Be wary of sales pitches by pet shop workers. They may just be trying to make a sale. You care better off doing the research yourself so you know the difference in a sales pitch and a genuinely caring pet shop worker.
2)By the biggest cage possible but make sure the floor is a minimum of 24 x 24 inches.
3)Do not buy a plastic cage. Always go with wire chinchilla cages.
Once you have your chinchilla and it has made a home in the wire chinchilla cage, invest in some toys for your friend to play with and always make sure the cage is clean. Cleaning a pet’s requires time and it needs to be done often. Not cleaning the cage can make both your pet and you sick!
